FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
COUNTDOWN
COMES TO KINDLE
Countdown, by author Joseph R. Pesta,
finds its way to Amazon's Kindle store
(Las
Vegas, NV)— Joseph R. Pesta, published by iUniverse, Inc., announced today…
Countdown, the science fiction novel by author Joseph
R. Pesta, is now available for the Amazon Kindle, the popular e-Reader
from Amazon.com.
About the book: A science fiction thriller
full of action, mystery, intrigue, and suspense, Countdown follows Agent
Jake Keeler on a mission that spans three worlds. A powerful missile has
been stolen. A growing terrorist organization has laid down its demands.
If their deadline isn’t met, the destruction of half a planet will soon
follow. Millions will die, and a vital economic agreement, created to
unite the three habitable worlds of the Ziara system, will never come
to pass. Having already mysteriously lost four of its top agents trying
to track down the terrorist leader, the Bureau—the most known and feared
organization in the charted galaxy—sends out its best agent to stop the
terrorist threat before it is too late. Can Agent Jake Keeler put an end
to the plans of the terrorists before the lives of millions are lost,
or will the countdown begin toward the destruction that will change the
face of the Ziara system forever?
From the author: “I’m very happy to see Countdown
released for the Kindle,” said author Joseph R. Pesta recently. “With
the popularity of the Kindle, and other reader devices like it, I think
we're just seeing the beginnings of the e-book finally coming into its
own. Up until now, the e-book format always had potential, but never really
took off. I think the Kindle, and devices like it have changed that. The
e-ink technology creates the feeling of reading text on a normal page,
rather than a computer screen, and it does it without tiring a person's
eyes. It just makes the experience of reading an e-book much more comfortable
than it used to be, and I think reader's understand that. That, along
with the convenience of being able to carry your library of books with
you anywhere, has definitely contributed to the popularity of e-Reader
devices. We're a society that's much more on the go than in years before,
and just as we are now able to carry our music and video collections with
us, it only makes sense that our books, newspapers, and magazines follow.”
Asked if he thinks e-books threaten the publishingindustry, Pesta replied,
“I don't think they threaten the publishing industry. I think it's just
more of a natural progression. Just as music and video have become popular
in digital format, I think it's only natural that people will want to
have they're reading materials available to them digitally as well. It's
all about convenience and portability. I think that is where the industry
is moving. Sure, it might be different, but that doesn't make it a bad
thing. It's really just another way to distribute content, and the consumer
has the choice to decide what content format is right for them.”
